WHO CAN APPLY?

YAMsession welcomes exceptional live music productions from around the world, designed for young audiences. Applying showcases:

  • Must be of the highest artistic quality

  • Must be able to tour easily in schools and a variety of venues

  • Provide technical documentation at application stage

    Please note:

    • All Showcase performances are 30 minutes long, thus artists must be able to adapt their performance to this length.

    • Applying for a showcase is not the same as applying for a YAMaward. The YAMawards have a separate submission process.

WHAT DO WE OFFER SHOWCASING ARTISTS?

  • Free participation in the full YAMsession 2 day event

  • Local expenses covered on the performance day (meals & accommodation)

  • €100 reimbursement per performer for travel –

    • Subject to available funding, additional travel support may be available, capped at €250 per person, and is not guaranteed.

  • Exposure to international young audiences concert bookers & promotional organisations across 15+ countries.

We recommend seeking additional support from local JMI members or national cultural agencies to cover travels.

HERE FROM PREVIOUS SHOWCASE ARTISTS!

We had an intense and good time at YAMsession 2024 in Bodø with lots of interesting encounters and new people to connect with. Everything was working well regarding logistics, timetable, venue and the children participating as an extra audience for the performances. We also feel grateful about the wonderful feedback we got after our showcase!

Since I’ve been in contact with YAM, I’ve met so many interesting people. It opened a completely new field of performances for me and has given me a lot of work opportunities. This experience is very inspiring and opens new views on the field of music.

— Gabor Vosteen, The Fluteman (Hungary)

Being part of the YAMsession was a great experience! We got a lot of concert requests on that account - more than we can actually play, so that was really positive. I can highly recommend a trip to wherever the YAMsession is taking place! It's a great event and a great show window for young audience musicians.
