Are you an experienced cultural professional with strong project management skills, a passion for music and young audiences, and experience working with international cultural projects?
YAM (Young Audiences Music) and JM International (JMI) are looking for a YAM / HARK! Coordinator to oversee the development and implementation of JMI’s YAM programme worldwide and to assist with the management and implementation of the international HARK! Creative Europe project, led by Kulturförvalningen and JMI.

YAM (Young Audiences Music) is JM International’s programme for live music for young audiences, aimed at providing access to high-quality live music experiences, including concerts and workshops, for young audiences aged 0–18.
JM International (JMI) is the world’s largest youth & music network, connecting 70+ members in over 60 countries and reaching more than 7 million young people every year through music, education and intercultural exchanges. Founded in 1945, JMI uses music as a tool for inclusion, dialogue, empowerment and peace, creating opportunities for young people across borders, cultures and communities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced cultural professional with strong project management and planning skills and experience in European cultural projects, including grant writing, budgeting, reporting, communications and event management.
The YAM / HARK! Coordinator will play a key role in coordinating the HARK! project across its different areas of work, including:
Project coordination and management
Capacity building and international training
Networking, showcases, YAM Awards and touring
Quality and programme development
Communication, dissemination and evaluation
The role also includes coordinating JMI’s global YAM programme, supporting the YAM Committee and network, contributing to fundraising and new grant applications, and representing YAM at international events and forums.
Experience with Creative Europe projects, alongside strong financial management and digital skills, is required. Excellent written and spoken English is essential. A musical background and knowledge of music programmes for young audiences are strong assets.
CONDITIONS
Location: Brussels, Belgium (ideally)
Contract: Freelance service contract
Duration: Approximately 33 months (September 2026 – May 2029)
Commitment: Approximately 4 days per week
Fee: €2,800 gross/month
Travel: Availability to travel 3–5 times per year
Working with: JMI head office team and the HARK! project consortium and lead partners in Sweden
YAMsession: Applicants must be available to attend YAMsession in Helsingør, Denmark, from 28 September to 1 October 2026.
