Announcing the YAMawards Nominees 2022

JM International is thrilled to announce the nominees of the 2022 edition of the Young Audiences Music Awards.

Since 2010, the Young Audiences Music Awards has celebrated excellence in the field of live music experiences for young audiences by identifying and promoting the best musical productions for kids and youth from all around the world. In 2022 the YAMawards added a new exciting category: Best School Concert, which aims to celebrate those creators who focus on productions for school audiences.

The YAMA nominees 2022 have been chosen from more than 70 incredible submissions from 26 countries. After intense deliberation, the international YAMawards juries have nominated the following productions:

BEST SMALL ENSEMBLE

• Babelut Parcours ZIMZUM - Collective "Down the rabbit hole" and Musica, Impulscentre (Belgium)

• Oum Pa Pa! - M'lart production (France)

• roundABOUT #1 Tsubasa Hori - Zonzo Compagnie (Belgium)

• schräg/strich - Beija-flor Quartet (Austria)

BEST LARGE ENSEMBLE

• Baltic: The Environmental Robot - Co-production by Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra (Sweden and Finland)

• The Alehouse Sessions - Barokksolistene (Norway)

• WILD (The Musical) - City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong (Hong Kong)

BEST DIGITAL PRODUCTION

• Nobellum - Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and David Chocron (Norway)

• The Firebird - сo-production by English Touring Opera and Little Angel Theatre (UK)

BEST PARTICIPATORY PROJECT

• Pay the Piper - Glyndebourne Youth Opera (UK)

• Upptakturinn / The Upbeat - Harpa (Iceland)

• Utoperas - A Youth (Chat) Opera in Series Format - Wiener Staatsoper (Austria)

BEST SCHOOL CONCERT

• CLASSICAL - Ensemble Eiradís (Denmark)

• String! - MishMash Productions (UK)

• Thousand buttons and four strings - Almir & Daniel (Norway)

BEST OPERA CONCERT

• HjerteLyd - HjerteLyd (Denmark)

• How to find your name - English Touring Opera (UK)

• Mushi Mezuru Himegimi (The lady who loved insects) - Tokyo Bunka Kaikan (Japan)

• Pay the Piper - Glyndebourne Youth Opera (UK)

Online voting for the Public Choice Award will go live on September 17th on www.yamawards.org. All winners will be announced at the YAMawards Ceremony that will take place in Bruges, Belgium on the 18th of October 2022 during the YAMsession.
